A Solemn Goodbye to My Great-Uncle

Al-Fatihah to our great-uncle, my gramma's brother, who passed away yesterday.

I was at work when I heard the bad news. "TokYin meninggal dunia ...". Mak called to let me know. Her mind was a complete mess as she was in the middle of preparing for today's event at home. Mak said Abah kept a long silence in his car, alone. He took the news quite hard as he's the closest nephew and they look so much alike.

However, the event today must go on despite the bad news. Abah and my bro went to pay the last respect. Me and Mak had to stay home for the event. Semoga rohnya dicucuri rahmat dan ditempatkan dikalangan insan-insan soleh yang diredhai Allah.

Last Saturday the family had lunch in our favorite halal chinese restaurant, RedWok, Bandar Baru Bangi. It was not the first time we're there. We've been a frequent visitor to this restaurant due the delicious food & open atmosphere. Nothing much to tell about the trip so I'll just photoblog on what's on the menu ....

Weekend Outings

We had two invitations last weekend. The first one was En. Amad's Majlis Tahlil & Doa Selamat. So we drove to Kota Perdana, Bandar Putra Permai only based on his address and a little help by Google Map. Fortunalety, it was easy to find.

Next visit was the wedding of our ex colleagues, W.A.Akhnaz & Norlina at KGPA, Bukit Kiara. Thanks for inviting us guys. We got to meet some of our old friends and colleagues. I met few of my clients too.

Agar-agar kering ... token from the Bride and Groom ...

Back from KGPA, Encik Hubby made some calls and we end up driving to Bangsar Village to meet my niece and SIL.  I have lots of fond memories here. There's a mosque next door where Encik Hubby and I used to visit when we were still courting. Across the street, there is Bangsar Village II, a boutique shopping centre, sort of an upgraded extension of Bangsar Village. There is a skywalk bridge connecting both shopping malls.

It was just a short visit, just to meet up to say hello. We've decided to head back home when Khalisya start to get cranky as she wanted to play with the escalator.

Just As I Am

I came across this banner in fb.

The author created the page to support the "International Petition for the Adoption of World Down Syndrome Day as United Nations Observance Day from 21 March 2012".

The author created this video to help encourage expecting parents to save their child.

I can't help but to think about Khalisya after watching this video. I only knew about her condition merely seconds after she was born. And if the doctor could detect her condition before she was born, I'm still gonna give birth to my precious one.

Syukur Alhamdulillah, I have all the physical and mental support that I should have. And of course, despite the denial from our love ones, we managed to gather our strength and redha with her condition.

Emping Padi

Read more about emping padi here.

Emping yang sedia untuk dimakan ....

Diwali's Delight

To all my Hindu friends and neighbours ....
Brighten the season with your smiles ... spread cheer, spread laughter. Happy Diwali!

  Festival of Lights

It's been over a month since we last tasted Mak's cooking. And since she's back in town, she's been cooking like almost everyday. For today's Diwali's holiday Lunch specials, of course there were fish curry, family's long time favorite. Too bad my brother cannot join us. Lauk simple je tapi makan bertambah-tambah. *LOL*

Simple dish je ... kari ikan merah, ikan tenggiri goreng, sayur sawi, ikan masin talang & sambal belacan bacang. Yang takde dalam gambar is bubur kacang dengan durian.

Lady Astronout in da making .... macam horror movie pun ada sikit-sikit
Khalisya makan pouridge with potato and carrot aje ... sesedap mana neneknya masak pun bukan dia makan pun ....Susah sikit nak bagi dia makan today, since troat dia bengkak kiri & kanan, its kinda hard for her to swallow hard food.

Demam Lagi

My little one demam lagi. Seisi rumah kena batuk-batuk. These few days mmg ramai yang datang visit my parents dan ramai juga yang batuk-batuk. Musim orang balik haji memang biasa macam tu selalunya.

Poor Khalisya asyik demam je, baru je baik demam.

Sempat lagi pose senyum dlm demam demam tu!

Khalisya dah boleh sebut "Kakak", she's referring to her second cousin yang actually sebaya ... physical size je tak sama :)

Catz: Ibu Khalisya pun rasa macam nak demam ...

Doyan Fiesta Langat Style

During today's elongated lunch hour, I followed my colleague to Kampung Jawa, Hulu Langat to pick up the pre ordered door gifts for her niece. We stopped for lunch at a riverside venue called Pohon Bamboo. It has a cozy atmosphere and a nice view of Sungai Pansoon.

Gerai biasa je, we all yang tak biasa dengan view sungai yang tak sampai beberapa meter dekatnye ....

After lunch, we all headed back to the office and singgah kat gerai durian on the roadside. Kupas sebiji OK, but the second buah tu dissapointing betul. Nasib baik bayar murah je.

We stopped again at a busy roadside somewhere in Batu 9, Cheras. This time, not at all disappointed! Superb. The 4 of us ate 6 biji in 20 mins ... dasat tu.

Welcome Back Kok Aji

My parents are back from Hajj around 2:00am this morning. Apart from the coughing, they are well in themselves. I'm just so happy that they're safely back and Khalisya seems so extremely excited to see her Kok Aji & Ajah Dede (Khalisya's language for Atok-Kok and Nenek-Dede).

Thanks to friends and families who came to visit. And a million thanks to my gramps and auntie for the dishes they brought for us to enjoy together.

I'm kinda tired as I don't really get enough sleep today but Khalisya slept like a log despite all the noises around her.

A pose with the abaya jubah her gramps bought from Mekah.

Another gedik pose from my little one with the sunglasses. Owh ... the sunglasses was a gift from Drypers Drypantz.

The Arabian Lunch Date

It's been raining cats and dogs here in SK lately. Despite the weather, somebody decided to treat us an Arabic cuisine in Sana'a Restaurant, an ordinary looking Yemen & Arabic Restaurant which offers a great taste of good food. I guess better than Saba Restaurant.

Grilled Chicken with Mandy Rice which everybody ordered.

Btw, thanks for the treat my fellow colleague, and Congratz for the promotion.

The rain pours as we're enjoying our superb grilled chicken. This was the part where we wanted to sing "Rain rain go awak come again another day".

Even with the severely pours, we have to head back to the office.

A view from our speed boat
