Potluck Breakfast

Gambar Hiasan

This morning we gathered for Putra Terrace potluck breakfast and we had many yummy dishes to choose from. I've met some new faces that I've never seen before (of course Mak knows who they are). Most of my neighbors know my parents and some of them didn't event know that I'm exist hehe.

Many of us are excited when there is potluck. I personally love potluck parties mainly for the bonding and food. Have you ever wonder what is the origin of the word 'potluck'? According to wiki, a potluck is a gathering of people where each person or group of people contributes a dish of food to be shared among the group.

As English words go, “potluck” is actually pretty straightforward.  It’s simply a combination of “pot,” in the sense of “cooking pot,” and “luck,” in the standard sense of “chance or fortune.”  When “potluck” first came into use in English in the late 16th century, it carried the sense of “whatever is available to eat” (i.e., already cooked in the pot), specifically in the context of a guest invited to dine on the spur of the moment, without special preparations having been made.  Early on, the form “to take potluck” became popular (“I accepted Mr Leeke’s invitation to take pot-luck with him and returned to Page’s in the evening,” 1810), a usage still heard today.  By the 20th century, “to take potluck” had acquired a more general sense of “to take what comes” or “to take one’s chances” in nearly any context (“Don’t be content to take ‘pot-luck’ on the future,” 1943).

Right here in our office, at least once a year we had potlucks. Usually these potlucks were not organized by the company and normally the committees are volunteers among the staffs.I have some entries about potlucks parties with the office mates.

Khalisya Oh Khalisya

Tak boleh nak lelap pulak mata ni. Khalisya baru je lelap, setelah berhempas pulas menangis teresak-esak. Ayah pujuk tak nak, Ibu pujuk pun tak nak, last last sekali Atuk yang tidurkan. Mata dah lelap pun masih ada saki baki sedu sedan menangis tadi.

Khalisya dah pun nak dekat 1 tahun 6 bulan, tapi masih belum berjalan lagi. Kalau berjalan meniti dari meja ke meja dia boleh la, berdiri sendiri pun boleh dah, cuma nak berjalan rasanya dia masih belum confident. Kalau ke class physio tu, 35 minit pertama je dia ok, the rest of 1.5 hours tu sure dia nangis lah, lagi-lagi kalau doc suruh berjalan.

Apa yang Khalisya pandai so far?
  • Main piano (Lagu ciptaan Khalisya sendiri)
  • Menari (Mengikut rentak lagu ciptaannya)
  • Membebel (Bahasa Jerman)
  • Berkawan (Mostly kena tarik rambut oleh Khalisya)
  • Sebut "Abu" or "Buyeh" means Ibu, "Ayah", Ata means "Atuk", "boa" means ball and "Adda" means susu (that's about it kot, yg lain tu tak tentu bijik butir sebutannya)
  • Panjat tangga (Menuju Puncak!)
  • Tolong kemas kain (Sepahkan ada la ...)
  • Guna remote tv (Untuk ketuk lantai)
  • Main bola (Selalu baling ke belakang)
  • Baca paper or majalah (mostly end up koyak rabak)
  • Pointing to herself and sebut Icha (Kalau tanya nenek mana pun dia akan point diri sendiri)
  • Switch on and off lampu
Huh lenguh menaip ... banyak lagi tu yang tak termasuk dalam senarai ...

Ada similarity tak both photo ni?

Antara latest photo taken from her aunty's berry hitam. Terserlah gigi kapaknya itu. Susut sikit anak ibu ni, mana taknye, lasak kemain, makan tak nak lak tu.

Rasanya dah lama tak dapat bill streamyx. Now ni nak bayar pun dah tak tau bill nya berapa. Bila check kat tmonline.com.my ada la sedikit pelik .... zero balance since March. So tadi call lah customer care, diorang cakap, memang bil cik kosong, last payment was in February. What?

Memang sah streamyx nak bagi pakai free kot.
